We recognise the busy lifestyle of our customers who may not have the time to sort and clean egusi for the family meal. We have done it all for you and present to you cleaned and washed egusi for your convenience.
Dehulled Egusi seeds can be used as a thickener for soups and stews. A blend of 240 mL of egusi seeds with 200 mL of water, added little honey and salt produced a mixture resembling the creaminess of mother’s mill that could be used as an infant food supplement. Ground into a paste with a small amount of water, Egusi seeds can be added to sauces and soups towards the end of cooking to create a curdled, scrambled egg-like texture that is neutral in flavour. The seeds can also be roasted as a snack, ground and formed into patties, ground into a peanut butter-like spread or fermented and added to soups or stews.
